Method
Serenity Retreat is a safe, non-judgmental place where privacy and confidentiality are paramount. With our years of experience, we have created an environment to help you feel comfortable and safe. At Serenity Retreat, we use Theophostic™ Prayer Ministry, which is intentional, focused prayer leading to an authentic encounter with the presence of Christ, resulting in mind renewal and a subsequently transformed life. The name Theophostic is a combination of two Greek words; theo meaning God, and phos, meaning light.
Most people feel some level of fear, anger, bitterness, shame, anxiety, despair, hopelessness, addiction or confusion. This simple ministry method helps us look at our past painful experiences to expose the beliefs that keep us from feeling peace. During a ministry session, Jesus brings truth, leaving us peaceful and calm.
Whether you are new to Theophostic Prayer or have experienced it before, Serenity Retreat offers you a deep, fulfilling experience. We strive to serve with excellence and professionalism and are careful to stay within the Theophostic™ Guidelines so that you have a transformational ministry experience.
How is it Different From Traditional Counseling?
Theophostic™ Prayer Ministry (TPM) at Serenity Retreat is not counseling. It is a method of prayer that relies on the Lord to bring truth, filling the role of the counselor. The session facilitator does not give advice, diagnose your condition, or try to direct where the session should go. The purpose of the session is to help you discover the source of your emotional pain, and then invite the Lord to share His truth about it with you. The truth sets you free.
What does it cost?
Ministry sessions are offered on a donation basis. Consider a gift of $50, $100, or $150 per session. We ask those who have the financial means to give more, so we can continue serving those who are struggling financially.

– Plan to schedule a series of four appointments, 1 1/2 hour each, once a week. This gentle pace allows you to slowly get to the bottom of the pain, and work toward freedom over time.
BELLVILLE
– MINISTRY APPOINTMENTS SUSPENDED UNTIL COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION (FALL 2013)In a country setting about an hour west of Houston, you experience three ministry sessions over two days (Thursdays to Fridays). This Personal Overnight Retreat usually results in very deep inner healing in a short period of time.

About the Ministry Teams
Our prayer ministers are mature Christian adults from a variety of Christian backgrounds who answered God's call to serve at Serenity Retreat. All have graduated from our rigorous training program and other ministry requirements established by Serenity Retreat.
